After selection, a series of training and coaching will be provided to the players of the HK Contingent in preparing for the HWC. It is including two times per week soccer training coached by the designated coach. If resources available, an overnight adventure-based training camp will also be provided to the player. It aims to enhance the team spirit and self-confidence of the players.

In the process of preparing the HWC, designated social worker will closely work with players as well as to cope with their emotional and social problems. Players are also encouraged to offer voluntary social services to needy socially deprived people.
